I know it can take a little time for the students to get back into school-mode. Please encourage your children to regain their focus and make attempts to participate even more now that we don't have all the distractions of Christmastime interrupting classes. We have some catching up to do to get back on schedule, but with some handwork and determination we WILL succeed! Most importantly, I have given students ample warning that the time to switch to full-time use of cursive was fast approaching, and the time is here! I will be reminding students initially, but they need to be making the conscious effort to train their brains to hand in h.w. and all classwork--unless otherwise noted--in cursive; this includes writing their first and last name, as well. Failure to do this may result in point deductions on graded work.
Some important things to add to your calendar:
Grade 3 will be hosting 10:30am Mass on Sunday, January 11th. I am trying to get an idea of how many students will be able to attend, and I will be sending home a slip tomorrow to get a head count. If your child is able to attend and does not have an assigned part in the Mass, I would love for the classmates to sit together--I can reserve a few pews in the front for myself and the students, as long as I know how much space I will need. Students who attend, and especially those participating MUST wear their formal school uniform. There will be a coffee an' collation to follow and all are welcome to join!
