Catholic Schools Week, although slightly interrupted by snow, was a huge success and it was great to hear the students' perception of our schools mission statement "in action" as they described how the St. Rose community is dedicated to academic excellence, spiritual development, and service to others.
On Friday, aside from all the Valentine's Day celebrations, our class performed a passage from the Bible (Colossians 3:12-14), which was a reminder for all about how we should all make effort to show kindness to others by "wearing love" for all to see and feel. I think I was able to record it and I will try my best to upload it to this site! The students wore the shirts we made together in class---keepsakes--and even Fr. Matt proudly wore his shirt in support, and he complemented our class and said he really enjoyed the presentation. REALLY NICE JOB, IN ADDITION TO OUR PARTICIPANTS AT ASH WEDNESDAY MASS, WHO DID REMARKABLY WELL WITH NOT MUCH TIME TO PRACTICE!!
This week in class, we will continue with our math practice in multiplication, and will tackle Rocket Math timed practice tests if time allows. These tests are simply to help students practice the skills we have already learned and work towards rote memorization of their facts. We will also be starting a new chapter in Science, since we were able to wrap up our chapter in S.S. before vacation! We will be getting some creative writing stories prepared in time for St. Patty's Day, in addition to beginning another chapter in our reading anthology.
