In other news, we have been making good progress over the past weeks since conferences, but we are fast approaching that point in the trimester that I call "Crunch Time." I've been trying to remind students that now is the time to really make a push to ensure that they are getting the best grades to reflect their final grade on the first trimester reports.....this is also a time when students get busy with sports and other commitments and work can get a little sloppy. For some, I can see a small change in conduct, which is still factored into report cards. I've given friendly reminders that although strong academic grades is a wonderful thing to have, the second piece to reports cards involves conduct and Christian values.
Within the next week or two, we will be wrapping up our addition chapter in math, Ch. 2 in social studies (on landforms and geography), ch. 6 in religion all focusing on the story of Moses, the last story from Unit 2 in Reading, and we will begin a new chapter in science.
Tomorrow we will have the opportunity to show our patriotism by wearing red, white, and blue (for a $1), and Tuesday we are hosting a morning assembly for Veteran guests. Wednesday we have NO School for Veteran's Day. Because our week is going to be short, we will not have a spelling test this Friday.
