As part of Catholic Schools Week, we have different special events planned for students such as BINGO, LEGO day, and a really interesting art demonstration! Another large piece of this year's week is a focus on the school's mission statement to help students better understand exactly what our mission, which we recite everyday in morning assembly, means. This is an opportunity to ask your child to give their own feedback and explanation of what it means to be " dedicated to academic excellence, spiritual development, and service to others!"
Although we have fun to look forward to this week, we continue to make steady progress in math with Multiplication tables. As I have told the students, this is something that should be practiced nightly. I cannot stress enough the importance of memorizing multiplication facts! In S.S., we are discussing the beginning of the United States (thanks to the European explorers who got a little lost on their way to Asia). We are nearly finished with this chapter, so we will most likely have our Ch. 4 test at some point next week before we leave for vacation!
Last, but not least, as Father Matt mentioned at the kick off mass, I want to thank all of you for choosing to send your children to Saint Rose. The sacrifices you make to provide your child with Catholic Education will be so worthwhile in the long run. As a product of 11 years of Catholic Education myself, I truly believe that my life would be significantly different if my parents had not chosen (or been able) to send me to parochial schools!
