The past few weeks, but this week especially, we have been working very hard on writing our autobiographies! This is a nice project to close out the year since we have already spent some time discussing biographies.
Although the year is wrapping up, we are still moving ahead in math and have started a new chapter on measurement and time. So far students are making good progress measuring items using inches, feet, and yards as the unit of measurement.
Last Friday we played a game similar to pin the tail on the donkey....except students were placed in groups and the goal of the game was to correctly identify and then place picture of each continent on a map. once all continents were used, students took turns identifying oceans on their maps and then labeled the names of the continents, as well as the north and south poles and the equator. All groups did a wonderful job and proved that their studying paid off.
Over the course of next week we will begin to take home certain materials that we won't be needing anymore to help prevent a student being overloaded with items to carry out on Thursday. Here are some tentative plans for next week:
Monday and Tuesday: business as usual
Wednesday: I am planning on having a class party ....this way if anything is left over it can be distributed on Thursday at snack.
Thursday: Our final full day of school. We will clean out desks and any remaining papers/portfolios will be sent home.
Friday: STUDENTS MUST WEAR THEIR FORMAL UNIFORM. We will attend mass at 9am and dismissal will follow afterward.
7 days left!!!
